Melaka, Malaysia – EDM Global Tech Sdn Bhd is pleased to announce the successful completion of the supply and installation of marine signalling equipment for the Sungai Punggor Breakwater Project in the state of Melaka.
As part of the project, two stainless steel land beacons were installed along the Sungai Punggor breakwater to enhance navigational safety and support maritime traffic within the river approach and surrounding coastal waters.
Each beacon is constructed from marine-grade stainless steel and features a robust design incorporating an access base, man guard, and walkable turret to facilitate safe maintenance operations. The structures stand with a focal plane height of 3 metres and weigh approximately 800 kilograms, ensuring durability and stability in the demanding marine environment.
The beacons are equipped with high-performance marine lanterns providing a nominal visual range of up to 6 nautical miles (NM), enabling mariners to safely identify navigation channels and breakwater limits during both day and night operations.
